LCHF diet (recipe)

My brother told us yesterday about this diet he wanted to try out called LCHF (Low Calorie, High Fat). I’ve heard about it but I still kinda don’t know how it works. Anyway to show our support on his sudden decision, we decided to make a LCHF dinner! I took a recipe from internet which sounded easy to start with. It was called Kassler Gratäng (Translation: Smoked pork casserole gratin) but it was more vegetables than meat. Here is the recipe:

1 red onion
2 paprika (green & yellow)
0,5 cm sliced kassler pieces
Pepper & Salt
Creme Fraiche – French Urbs

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Slice kassler into 0.5 cm wafers. Grease a mold with olive oil. Place the smoked pork slices on the bottom.

2. Cut all vegetables into thin pieces and add the paprika and onions on top of the kassler, and last tomatoes. Add salt and pepper. But be a little careful with the salt because kassler is already salty. Click creme fraiche over the tomatoes. Bake for about 30 minutes. Remove and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 10 minutes.

Calories: 405 kcal, Carbohydrates: 9 grams, Protein: 42 g, Fat: 21 g

It was actually really delicious, I was surprised because there were no basic food like rice or potatoes. This is how I always imagen ratatouille to taste like haha ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ We would absolute eat it again!
